Gatherings and ritual are at the heart of Mile End Chavurah. Throughout the year, we come together to mark Shabbat, holidays, life cycle moments, and times of grief or transition. Our approach is rooted in Jewish tradition, but not limited by convention. We make space for music, learning, experimentation, and shared leadership so gatherings are shaped by the people who take part in them.

Shabbats are at the core of MECh’s activities. We gather as a community every month, sometimes in the park, sometimes in community homes, and sometimes in neighbourhood spaces, to welcome Shabbat together with singing, food, and whoever walks through the door.

MECh marks the major holidays of the Jewish calendar together. These include the High Holy Days, Passover, Purim, Sukkot, Chanukah, and others. Holiday gatherings usually combine prayer, music, learning, and shared meals, and are organized with broad community participation.
