Managing Director

Peter Horowitz

Born and raised in Montreal, Peter attended Hebrew Foundation School, Herzliah High School (St-Laurent), and Vanier College before receiving a Bachelor of Commerce from the Faculty of Management at McGill University.

He successfully completed the Passport to Jewish Life Fellowship in collaboration with Federation CJA and M2: The Institute for Experiential Jewish Education, and was a participant at the third Kenissa Communities of Meaning National Consultation. He has also been a Freed Fellow at KlezKanada.
 
A founding Board member of Mile End Chavurah, Peter made the jump from volunteer Board member to Director of Operations in 2011 and is now the Managing Director of the organization.
 
In addition to programming and producing events, managing the finances of the organization and supporting the Board, Peter founded and continues to direct the popular JEDI (Jewish Education Development Initiative) after-school program, and can often be seen and heard on the bimah as a member of the “Holy Rollers”, the Mile End Chavurah house band.

Peter lives in Mile End with his wife Megan and two kids Zeke and Hazel.

Rach Klein

Rach Klein is an artist, art historian, and educator based in TiohtiĆ :ke/Montreal. While doing their PhD at McGill University, Rach continues to be  involved with arts and cultural education  and is passionate about facilitating inclusive, creative, and pluralistic programming for all ages.

Rach is one of the founders of Machane Lev, a summer camp for LGBTQ+ Jewish youth, and is currently its’ Educational Director.

Rach lives in Mile End with their mischievous guinea pig, Wilbur, and is thrilled to be joining the vibrant MECh community.
